Infrastructure Manager - Nottingham (fully onsite) - £65,000

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for maintaining, developing, optimising, auditing, and safeguarding the IT network and infrastructure. This role also involves the line management of the IT team.

Key Responsibilities:

Management:

Proactively manage the IT team to support and maintain existing systems and infrastructure.
Maintain the integrity of IT infrastructure and network requirements, coordinating with third-party contractors.
Facilitate site-specific installations for PC replacements and new store systems.
Mentor and guide junior team members.
Produce annual risk assessments and collaborate with business insurers and auditors to ensure IT system integrity.
Design and implement strategic plans to meet current and future infrastructure capacity needs.
Develop IT strategies in collaboration with the Senior Management team.
Manage relationships with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure products and services.
Provide hands-on infrastructure support when needed.
Proactively manage telecoms, security, and alarm providers; audit service levels and negotiate contracts for Senior Management approval.
Development:

Recommend and oversee server upgrades and develop new procedures and work practices.
Manage ongoing IT projects.
Implement business processes, company policies, and controls to meet licensing, legislative, and compliance requirements.
Establish a 'best practice' Service Desk Management function.
Create and maintain documentation for user/system manuals, license agreements, and system modifications/upgrades.
Prepare budgets for capital expenditure projects for management approval.
Housekeeping:

Document policies and procedures, disaster recovery planning, archiving, monitoring usage, software upgrades, web usage, licenses, penetration testing, cybercrime prevention, and insurance.
Troubleshoot system and network problems.
Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications, including site-specific installations for replacement PCs, laptops, tablets, and new store systems.
Teamwork and Communication:

Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely external support in line with purchasing guidelines.
Communicate effectively with all internal departments, including internal audit and stores, to provide first and second-line IT support for hardware and software issues and repairs.
Security and Backups:

Ensure all systems are backed up, with offsite disk storage where necessary.
Maintain sufficient security levels to prevent cybercrime or attacks.
Business Support:

Manage first and second-line support, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving technical and application problems.
Oversee helpdesk activities for back-office applications.
Monitor system downtime performance and work with external contractors and suppliers to optimize system performance.
Ensure effective use of external support for third-line support issues.
Management Information:

Provide information and reports to management and other departments as required.Other Responsibilities:

Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Work out of hours as required to maintain systems and meet business needs.
Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.
Promote and maintain safe working practices.
Report any breach of security or act of dishonesty to senior personnel.
