Area Director – Learning Disabilities

£50,000 per annum + £6000 car allowance

REQUIREMENTS

* Experience as a Regional Manager in learning disability services.

* A proven track record of achieving at least ‘good’ ratings in CQC inspections.

* Experience leading supported living services.

* Strong commercial awareness

Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a national care provider which specialises in residential and supported living care for young adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. They are well-established within the sector and are looking to recruit an Area Director.

THE ROLE

As Area Director, you will be responsible for the smooth running of a patch of supported living services. The Registered Managers of these services will all report directly to you, while you will report to the Managing Director. This role will involve visiting and supervising services, carrying out quality audits and monitoring progress, forging positive relationships with local authorities, and managing the budgets for the region.

THE CANDIDATE

A background within supported living services for young adults with learning disabilities is essential. Applicants must also be commercially astute and understand what it takes to operate portfolio of profitable care services, e.g. developing ties with local authorities, managing occupancy and agency use, and overseeing a P&L.

The ideal candidate should also have proven experience of delivering consistently high quality of service within the sector, and therefore you should have a track record of ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ CQC ratings. The position requires somebody who has extensive knowledge of the sector and is able to confidently work with a team of Registered Managers to ensure great quality care to all service users. The business is looking for someone who is motivated to play a vital role in helping the company to achieve its goals.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

There will be a three-stage interview process:

1. A formal face-to-face meeting with the Managing Director

2. A 30-minute interview over Teams with the Managing Director and HR Director.

3. An informal 15 minute interview with the CEO.
