Starting salary £24.000+sleep ins (£50 per sleep-in)

gap healthcare is currently recruiting on behalf of their client a dedicated Residential Children’s Support Worker. Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young adults? Do you have the resilience, empathy and skills to support children with mental health needs and challenging behaviours? If so, we want to hear from you! 

As a Residential Children’s Support Worker, you will be a crucial part of the team, providing day-to-day care, support and guidance to children with a range of needs. Your role will involve:

Building positive, trusting relationships with the children and young adults
Supporting service users with mental health needs, complex emotional and behavioural challenges
Assisting with daily routines and activities
Promoting independence and self-esteem
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care
Participating in sleep-in shifts, providing overnight support as required
Requirements:

Must have a full, valid, UK driving licence 
Previous experience working with children with mental health needs, challenging behaviours or similar experiences with adults might be considered
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain calm and patient and be understanding in challenging situations
Relevant qualifications in childcare or social care would be beneficial
