Our client are a leading global machinery manufacturer based in Norwich.
Due to continued success they have an opportunity for a Lead Logistics Coordinator to manage on time shipment and delivery of company products, in good order and in the most cost effective manner.

Successful candidates will have proven experience of working in an international import/export environment with broad knowledge of international import/export legislation?
Key performance indicators will include
Compliance with prevailing International Export / Import regulation, legislation and custom procedures.
• Adherence to all company compliance requirements and as dictated by national and international legislation.
• Full adoption of all departmental and company processes and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
The primary role of the Lead Logistics Coordinator is:
• To organise the prompt shipment (export and import) of products and materials utilising approved carriers and the most appropriate and cost-effective mode of transport, to meet or exceed customer delivery expectations.
• Full adherence to all processes and procedures and the maintenance and upkeep of all respective order and shipment records
• Monitor approved carriers, freight forwarders and other 3PL’s to ensure service to customers and OTIF levels are maintained to the highest levels.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Prioritisation and planning of shipments with reference to production schedules, production management, customer service, other departments, and colleagues to meet agreed customer delivery date.
• Where applicable, arrange the packing (to agreed standards) and daily shipping of products to customers and agents worldwide.
• Process sales orders, despatch and shipping documentation via the company ERP system and other associated software, carrier specific systems, and manually generated documents as required.
• At all times be cognisant of international export and import legislation and customs procedures affecting the shipment or importation of products and materials including the understanding of VAT and C88 documentation.
• Creation of purchase orders on companies ERP for, and reconciliation of, carrier invoices for approval and payment.
• Liaise, communicate, advise and report internally on matters of delivery, cost and shipping related queries to assist with timely customer issue resolution or as may otherwise be required.
• Arrange timely collections of equipment, parts or labels from customers as required for domestic or international movements.
• Work closely with the Logistics Manager to identify cost and service improvement opportunities and, where agreed, implement revised or new process to optimise those opportunities.
• Provide Knowledge, support, and guidance to the wider logistics team as and when needed.
• In the absence of the Logistics Manager, lead the logistics team, take appropriate and decisive action to solve any potential situation and attend any management meetings if required.
• Physical sorting, labelling, and checking of shipments / boxes prior to the exporting of goods.
• Operation of the forklift truck to facilitate the loading, unloading and onsite movement of products and materials as may be required.
• Fully understand the quality standards, relating to warehousing and transportations. Specifically BRC compliance.
