An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Procurement team for a Category Manager based at One Stratford Place.

The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced category manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading all aspects of the procurement lifecycle up to the Regulated Thresholds and delivering compliant procurement activities and sourcing strategy across all responsible categories and departments.

Duties will include leading on the delivery of procurement strategies and tactical approaches, supporting various business functions through tendering, contract support, supplier management, and savings generation. The successful candidate will also advise internal stakeholders on procurement procedures and processes, develop procurement strategies in collaboration with senior managers, and provide sourcing and commercial expertise in negotiations with suppliers.

Additionally, the role requires ensuring compliance with UK laws and industry standards in purchasing and contract activities, driving continuous improvement in sustainable procurement practices, managing and approving purchase orders through the financial system, and undertaking other reasonable requests as required by the line manager.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a candidate with experience in procurement, tendering, contract management, and supplier management. The candidate should have a proven track record of driving continuous improvement in sustainable procurement practices. The candidate should have the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

In addition to this, working knowledge of UK contract law, government procurement legislation and procurement regulations is required. Proficiency in IT systems and tools such as MS Office, procurement portals, and procure-to-pay systems.
