HSEQ Superintendent

We are currently conducting a search for a highly qualified HSEQ Superintendent for one of our esteemed clients based in Glasgow. This role is pivotal for managing the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) aspects related to oil, chemical, and product tankers.
Responsibilities:

* Develop, implement, and oversee HSEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with international standards and regulations.

* Conduct regular HSEQ audits and prepare detailed reports on findings and improvements.

* Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrences.

* Provide training and support to onboard crew and shore-based staff on HSEQ practices.

* Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal departments to enhance safety and operational efficiency.

Desirable Requirements:

* Proven sailing experience as a Chief Officer.

* Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a shore-based HSE role within the maritime industry.

* Familiarity with SIRE 2.0.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

* Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

* Possession of a Class 1 Certificate of Competence.

* Proven sailing experience as a Master Mariner.

* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in identifying safety risks and necessary corrective actions.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to train and motivate teams towards maintaining high safety standards.

Additional Requirements:

* Right to live and work in the UK.

* Preference for candidates already based on the west coast of Scotland.
