Operational Finance Analyst
Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
37.5 hours full time based in the office
The role of Operational Finance Analyst is working for a leading, Birmingham-based, multimodal Freight Forwarding and Logistics organisation who specialise in retail, manufacturing and chemicals.
Duties will include:
* Identify and analyse financial status by comparing actual results with plans and forecasts.
* Improve financial status by monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
* Liaise with procurement to compare budgets vs. actuals at customer and trade levels.
* Review intermonth variances, costs, and open reserves.
* Establish and enforce policies for cost analysis, provide trends and forecasts, and recommend actions.
* Analyse and interpret data, make comparative analyses, and study proposed changes in methods and materials.
* Suggest best practices and efficiencies in the costing process.
* Develop automated accounting applications and coordinate information requirements.
* Assist the Operational Finance supervisor by communicating changes, ensuring smooth rollout of new tasks, writing new process standards, conducting data integrity checks, and updating rates on the intranet
* Experience in a similar is necessary
* Experience in the logistics sector is preferred but not necessary.
* 5 year checkable work history within the UK
