Records Management Specialist
Location: Fort Meade, MD (REMOTE DURING COVID-19)
U.S. Citizen: Yes
Clearance: Public Trust
Position Description:
Provide instruction and assistance to Government records management professionals on the inventory, categorization, and maintenance of both physical and electronic records within a cloud services (G Suite) electronic records management system
Develop briefings and deliver records management briefings to inform Activity personnel on record management policies and procedures
Initiate action to accomplish a variety of analytical and administrative duties involved in the development, implementation, and administration of the Activity’s records management program
Track records and information assets throughout the records lifecycle-from receipt to disposition
Compile inventories in accordance with provided guidance, standards, forms, and materials
Provide consultative services including training and on-site guidance for the clients and management support for the contractor team
Engage with records custodians to identify records, capture function and business process information, and apply proper retention to records in paper and electronic format
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in records information management
Expert knowledge of DoD records management regulations, instructions, policies, directives and procedures
National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) or equivalent certification
Project Management Professional certification is a huge plus!
Experience in leading and managing other records management technicians
Outstanding organization, project management and communication skills
Expertise in records lifecycle-from receipt to disposition
Experience in G Suite applications such as Google Vault (highly preferred)
Active Public Trust Tier 1 clearance or higher
Educational Requirements: M. S or M. A. degree is desired. BS/BS degree is required.
