Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.
Our client is recruiting for a Group Sales Manager
A rapidly growing UK manufacturing business on an exciting trajectory. With a strong foundation and innovative products, poised for significant expansion. Operating primarily in the B2B space and are seeking a talented Group Sales Manager to spearhead this ambitious growth.
Their passion is saving energy, carbon, and money for clients.
The Role:
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and motivating our sales team to achieve exceptional results.
This includes:
• Delivering a winning sales plan: You will be responsible for executing a clear and actionable plan to propel our sales from £5 million to over £25 million annually within the next 3-5 years. This will involve identifying new market opportunities, optimising sales processes, and setting ambitious yet achievable targets.
• Building and leading a high-performing team: You will recruit, train, and manage a team of sales representatives, initially with 8 staff and growing to over 40 within a few years. You will be a coach and mentor, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and outstanding performance.
• Driving sales performance: You will provide ongoing coaching and support to the sales team, ensuring they have the tools, knowledge, and motivation to consistently exceed targets. You will closely monitor individual and team performance, implementing strategies to identify and address any challenges.
• Driving adherence to all processes: You will champion adherence to business and sales processes, ensuring all aspects of our sales process are always followed and captured through our CRM and sales processing systems.
• Forecasting: You will be responsible for accurate and up-to-date forecasting to inform our production schedules and financial forecasts.
• Collaboration: You will work collaboratively with all other parts of the business, especially with marketing, production and finance.
• KPIs: You will be responsible for tracking conversion through the sales funnel, and reporting against all agreed KPIs on a regular basis. This will include proposed actions for any gaps or shortfalls against KPIs.
• Managing the CRM system: You will be responsible for ensuring all customer records, leads, transactions and interactions are updated on our CRM system at all times.
• Reporting: You will be required to prepare reports of progress and forecasts to internal stakeholders monthly, to include full details of progress against targets, activity within the agreed sales processes, and robust information to support all forecasts.
• Maintaining quality standards: You will be required to ensure all aspects of your team operate to maintain and uphold our ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards at all times.
• Building strong customer relationships: You will play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and partners. This will involve understanding their needs, developing customised solutions, and ensuring their continued satisfaction.
• Collaboration and communication: You will work closely with other departments, such as marketing, production, technical and customer service, to ensure a seamless customer experience and an aligned company vision.
Key Attributes to include:
• A proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
• A minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within sales management.
• Strong understanding of sales methodologies and the ability to create and implement a winning sales plan.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Experience in building and managing high-performing sales teams, ideally with experience in scaling teams.
• Strong forecasting skills and a track record of accurate and reliable sales forecasts.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and use it to inform strategic decision-making.
• Deep understanding of the B2B sales cycle and the ability to identify and qualify leads.
• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
• A passion for manufacturing and a strong understanding of the industry (desirable).

Working Hours and Remuneration
Full time role, to be conducted during standard Office Hours – 08:30AM- 17:00PM Mon- Fri. Your hours will vary from these to accommodate your workload etc. You will be expected to travel on a frequent basis to recruit and manage effective relationships with clients and with the team.
Salary: Basic £50,000 per annum
Commission structure (reviewed annually, linked to annual sales targets agreed through the annual budget process):
• Monthly Sales Dept Bonus: 0.25% of calendar monthly sales above £800,000
• Annual Sales Dept: 0.125% Annual Sales above £7,000,000
