PLC Controls Engineer

Westerdale Group are currently recruiting for a number of PLC Controls engineer Specialist to join a fast growing company within the automation sector.

The role will involve technical development of intralogistics warehouse automation solutions taking projects through from concept to completion. Developing PLC code and associated processes from scratch and liaising and coordinating ‘in house’ electrical Eplan or Autocad design engineers through the design phase in our Nottingham office, leading up to then taking the lead role in implementing final commissioning to handover stage at clients sites throughout the UK and occasionally Europe or International.

The ideal candidate will have to have proven ability to diagnose a complete range of control systems ranging from electromechanical issues through, PLC's, user interfaces, SCADA systems, LV Distribution and switchgear, ideal you will have experience Siemens PLC’s.

Key responsibilities
• This opportunity would suit an experienced PLC commissioning engineer familiar with Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms using Step 7 / TIA Portal / Logix5000 packages.
• Bar coding and interaction with WCS/WMS systems plus familiarity of networks such as Asi, profibus, profinet, Ethernet IP etc would also be favourable.
• Developing PLC code and associated processes from scratch.
• Developing PLC code to include Gebhardt standard functions
• Implementing final commissioning to handover stage
• Good knowledge of electrical schematic drawings and electrical safety circuits
would be a pre requisite.
