Control Systems Engineer

£35,000 - £55,000 +Pension, Allowances
12M T/O Business. North East based.

This position is open to engineers who are flexible to support with commissioning duties, however, they will also accept applications from engineers who are happy to develop PLC software in house on a full-time basis.

Control Systems Engineer – The Role:

Hands-on Control Systems design role for bespoke machinery projects for the Automation sector: Automotive, Medical, Pharmaceutical
Software writing for PLC and HMI control, or other suitable control system
Fully test and commission the equipment/machinery to ensure a successful FAT & SAT
Assist with pre-commissioning activities, ensuring machinery build & testing is completed to specification
Generating an efficient and cost effective bill of materials required for the application
Networking and interfacing with all equipment & customer networks where appropriate
Produce technical reports, risk Assessments and other technical documentation
Produce customer sign off & technical documentation such as FDS
Liaise with suppliers ensuring suitable equipment function and operation within costs
Communicate accurate project status to ensure pro-active planning
Collaborate with wider design teams and departments to improve functions and processes
Control Systems Engineer – The Person:

Qualified to HND/HNC minimum within a relevant discipline
Experience with Siemens TIA Portal or Rockwell desired
Experience in robot programming practices preferred
Possess a good understanding of engineering principles in control system design
Experience in bespoke/special purpose machine building and design
Experience with vision and sensing systems, robotics & automation
This role is based in the North East of England, which offers value for money spacious homes with beautiful scenery. The position is near to Newcastle, Sunderland & Durham, making it a perfect commuter location. The company are open to assist with relocation costs.
