Contract Project Health and Safety Consultant. The role is to provide client side safety for the delivery and implementation of Health and Safety management across a £1bn+ Data Centre project in London.

The programme consists of several projects and will involve the management of significant high-risk activities both on individual sites and cumulatively across all of the project works. Main risks will include extensive excavation and temporary works, segregation between pedestrian and vehicle movement, works at height, lifting and lowering large heavy prefabricated components and live energies as well as the associated planning, management and co-ordination for these issues.

Duties

* Ensure Client complies with the national statutory Health and Safety requirements.

* Enhance, improve and implement the existing construction safety management programme and procedures.

* Provide a review and oversight of construction Health and Safety management procedures, cross- evaluation of projects, sharing lessons learned / best practice, and driving continuous improvement.

* Assist in the identification and management of high-risk activities; including liaising with design teams and working with contractors in forward safety planning.

* Review and assess the health and safety implications of changes during construction projects.

* Develop, implement and report Health and Safety management performance for each project

* Carry out Health and Safety audits.

* Monitor compliance.

* Assessment of accidents, incidents and near-miss reporting.

Experience

Extensive experience in contractor communications and liaising with design teams and other project professionals. Strong communication skills with associated excellent reporting skills.

Qualifications

GradIOSH or CMIOSH status with previous experience in a Senior role. Relevant experience in construction Health and Safety management, large projects and preferably, client side experience
