Essex Court Chambers is a magic circle set recognised nationally and internationally in the fields of Commercial and Financial Litigation, Arbitration, Public Law and Public International law. Chambers is currently seeking a Marketing Executive. The Marketing Executive will provide marketing, communications and events support to Chambers, Members of Chambers and to the Head of Marketing. They will be responsible for the running of day-to-day marketing activity, including projects and events that are primarily dictated by the Chambers Marketing Strategy. The role reports directly to the Head of Marketing but is expected to work closely with the Senior Clerk and Team Leaders.

Job Summary

Marketing

* Working with the Head of Marketing, Senior Clerk and Team Leaders to play a hands-on role to support and improve Chambers’ marketing and business development plans.

* Identifying, developing, and facilitating creative marketing initiatives and opportunities to raise the profile of Chambers and its Members.

* Supporting the Head of Marketing with submissions to key legal directories.

* Work with external suppliers to arrange the design and production of Chambers branded stationery and events materials.

* Stay up to date with trends and activities within the legal landscape in London, for both clients and competitors.

* Analyse trends and patterns in statistics to make recommendations to improve the Chambers Marketing Strategy.

Events

* Day-to-day management of the busy global and UK events calendars.

* Identifying and assisting with Chambers’ industry and client-focused talks, seminars and events.

* Event marketing, guest communications, sponsor communications and post-event communications.

* Venue and location research and booking including contract negotiations.

* Arranging catering, entertainment, AV, photography, signage, slides, name tags, gift bags etc.

* Confident organisation skills to manage multiple events at once.

* Build and manage event mailing lists. Keep these up to date.

* Occasionally attending events to manage onsite logistics and front-of-house arrangements

* including guest lists, name badges, hand-out notes etc.

Communications

Responsible for clear and consistent internal communications with Members of Chambers.

Understanding of Chambers members and practice areas, joining Team Leaders for practice reviews where relevant.

Regularly coordinating practice area meetings.

Manage the regular internal news bulletin.

Providing assistance to the Head of Marketing with external communications to clients, via multiple touchpoints, including events, social media and the newsletter.

Digital Marketing

Assisting with the development and maintenance of consistently branded materials across multiple digital platforms including virtual events, newsletters, social media posts and audio/video content.

Assisting with website management and content.

Provide day-to-day support to barristers to update their profiles and working with new tenants/pupils to create their profiles.

Provide support to the Head of Marketing to ensure articles, amendments, press coverage and future/past events are up to date on the website.

Coordinating external communications including social media (Website, Twitter and LinkedIn).

Reflecting on digital marketing practices to make suggestions and improve digital marketing strategy.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Preferred 3-5 years’ experience in professional services experience and/or legal environment.

* Experience with integrated communications, including the use of digital and social media.

* Strong knowledge of venues and high standard of events coordination and delivery.

* A proven track record of delivering high quality marketing campaigns.

* Strong organisational skills with proven ability to manage own workload and use initiative.

* Excellent communication skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills. Professional with the ability to interact with people at all levels.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential.

* Proficiency in Lex, WordPress and Google Analytics preferred, but not essential.

* CIM preferred, but not essential

* Good understanding of new event technologies.

* Good attendance and time keeping.

* Ability to work occasional longer hours and travel as required
