Senior Rf Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our RF Team as a Senior Engineer. Ensuring the workflow within our business is efficient and that our deliverables are expedited at the end of a test programme are key to our success. To facilitate our growth strategy within our test disciplines we are implementing this new role. As part of a team of specialists, you will be responsible for working within the team to vet test reports prior to release to our client, provide technical support and aid technical development of current and new employees. In addition to this key activity, you will support activities which underpin our accreditation and testing activities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities - you will:

* Provide technical support to the commercial team as required to enable them to provide comprehensive quotations to our client.

* Ensure that customers test samples are functional and can be operated across all necessary technologies in readiness for test.

* With the Chief Engineer, ensure that the relevant test plans are created, fit for purpose, and handed over to the testing team and that they understand the requirements prior to commencing testing.

* Provide technical supervision to the testing team, supporting problem solving.

* Provide technical support and guidance to projects/clients at job preparation stage (interfacing products with test equipment, modes of operation, compilation of application forms)

* Support training and competence development of new starters.

* Carry out team members competency checks as required to ensure that they always remain current, ensuring that all competencies are reflected correctly in accordance with the current processes.

* Carryout data checks to support the review process ensuring prompt throughput of data and reports.

* Timely and accurate vetting of test reports, to ensure they are compliant with the client and relevant regulatory and quality requirements.

* Test procedure generation including provision of photos and measurement uncertainty calculations.

* Develop as specialist in a specific area of testing i.e. General RF testing, etc.

* Identify improvements in the testing and reporting process to improve delivery and lead-times.

* Commercial and technical validation of projects (may require site visits)

Essential Criteria - the successful candidate will have:

* HND (or equivalent) in Engineering or equivalent experience

* Proven practical experience to a high standard of RF or EMC testing in a Test House Environment, in accordance with Regulatory or discipline related specifications.

* Understanding of Quality Management Systems i.e. ISO 17025

* Maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

* Commercial awareness

* Good communication skills at all levels

* Compliance with using relevant business tools applicable to the role
