Beehive Recruitment is on the lookout for a Technical Buyer in the Liverpool area. We are working with a leading manufacturer within the pharmaceutical industry, who are looking to recruit an experienced buyer with sound technical knowledge to support the growing Supply Chain Team. This new role is being incorporated into the team to bring a higher level of technical expertise into the purchasing element of the business to support the growing portfolio of products that they purchase. A suitable candidate would have experience of working within an engineering environment and the ability to understand technical documents and drawings so that the information can be clearly communicated with relevant stakeholders.

Main duties
- To work as part of the purchasing team raising Purchase Orders and ensuring suppliers are working within their acknowledged deliver schedules.
- Ability to hold technical discussions with both internal and external stakeholders in order to review and resolve any issues that arise.
- To develop and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers, and where possible to source new suppliers to assist with the growing demands on the business.
- Ensuring orders are placed in a timely manner, and that acknowledgments are received and recorded within the business systems.
- To monitor and review usage of product and consider stock levels and purchasing strategies to ensure cost savings where possible.
- To work with suppliers to ensure outstanding orders are prioritised and progressed in line with production requirements.
- To ensure correct product compliance, and where necessary assist in the resolution of issues relating to product documentation.
- To hold update meetings with suppliers and where necessary arrange visits to monitor progress.
- To support the buyer with general purchasing tasks from across the business as required.
- Any other tasks deemed commensurate with the role for the Purchasing Manager and wider business.

Experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role,
- Excellent knowledge of purchasing practices,
- Experience of MRP and ERP systems,
- Experience of reading technical documents and drawings,
- Previous experience in manufacturing/production environment ,
- Confidence & Determination,
- Communication and Negotiation Skills,
- Good administrative skills.
