Umbra Lab, Inc. (Umbra) is a technology company which builds next-generation space systems. Umbra is launching an unrivaled constellation of space-based radar satellites with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) capabilities, to produce all weather day-night imagery with sub-meter resolution for low cost distribution via an integrated web platform. We are a bold, experienced team of developers, engineers, product specialists, and other professionals working to aggressively expand the state-of-the-art for commercial remote sensing.
We are looking for an Information Security Officer (ISO) to establish our company-wide security posture and lead implementation of all security-related initiatives. The ISO will report to the Vice President of Operations, and collaborate with the CEO, department heads and all staff regarding security best practices, their company-wide implementation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
* Establish the Company's overall security posture to be upheld by all employees and related parties with whom the Company does business
* Lead the Company's cybersecurity, insider threat, and physical security programs in accordance with current aerospace industry regulations and trends
* Contribute expert knowledge and guide Company efforts to continuously improve our security practices
* Regularly brief the Leadership Team on status of security-related risks, and educate the organization about the latest security strategies and technologies
* Maintain a current understanding the IT threat landscape for the industry and translate that knowledge to identify and mitigate risk
* Ensure that security vulnerabilities and hacking threats in network and host systems are continuously monitored by the Company in alignment with our security posture
* Ensure that company-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and regularly tested
* Support the continuous improvement of all security-related policies, procedures, practices and training programs
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related information security or IT field
* Approximately ten years of relevant security experience in IT environments including with companies deploying cloud-based, customer-facing software
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other recognized information security certification, or equivalent experience
* Understanding of organizational resource permission best practices, SSO administration, Active Directory, Windows Server and MacOS /iOS administration
* Knowledge of US Government information security compliance requirement
* Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced development environment
Desired Qualifications
* Experience in an aerospace or defense contractor environment, or similar environment with an emphasis on physical and IT security
* Experience with NIST compliance and related IT security initiatives
* Experience with the National Industrial Security Program and NISPOM
Additional Requirements
