Your Purpose: The IT Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of an organization's information technology systems and infrastructure. You will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions to address hardware, software, and network-related issues. The IT Specialist collaborates with various departments and end-users to understand their technology needs and provide effective solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Technical Support:
Provide technical assistance and support to end-users, including hardware and software installations, system configuration, and troubleshooting. Respond to user inquiries and resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
Network Administration:
Oversee the organization's network infrastructure, including monitoring network performance, configuring and maintaining network equipment, and ensuring network security.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and implement necessary adjustments or upgrades.
System Maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance tasks on computer systems, servers, and other IT equipment. This includes software updates, patches, and security enhancements to ensure optimal system performance and data integrity
Information Security:
Implement and enforce security measures to protect the organization's information and technology assets. This includes managing user access, conducting regular security audits, and educating employees on best practices for data protection.
Software and Hardware Management:
Evaluate, install, configure, and maintain software applications and hardware devices.
Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to assess technology needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and manage software and hardware licensing.
Documentation and Training:
Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
Provide training and support to users on software applications and technology tools.
Project Management:
Lead or contribute to IT projects, such as system upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, or software implementations.
Coordinate project activities, ensure timely delivery, and manage stakeholders' expectations.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains.
Make recommendations for technology upgrades or system enhancements.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Three to five years of proven experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
Understanding of information security principles and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Certifications in relevant IT areas (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to frequently move from place to place within the location; file and retrieve books and other items on high shelves; lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds. of heavy boxes, books, and equipment; walk; bend; stoop; reach; and climb.
