Are you a dynamic and passionate individual with a knack for events management and a drive to support small businesses to achieve their individual goals? Gladstone Chamber of Commerce are currently seeking a dedicated Manager to lead our team and spearhead our networking, events and membership growth initiatives.

The Gladstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc (GCCI) is an incorporated association wholly funded through a membership base and business development activities. The Chamber acts on behalf of its membership on issues of general and specific interest to the business community and provides services to help local business. It works closely with the Gladstone Regional Council, representative bodies, individual members, and other organisations to maximise business opportunities and economic prosperity in the Gladstone Region.

Positions Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to be the face and driving force of the organisation. You will be responsible for actively growing our membership base, providing engagement and services to existing and potential members, as well as managing various events throughout the year including the Best in Business Awards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholder to ensure events, fundraisers and business training programs are delivered in an efficient and effective way whilst achieving the goal of raising awareness and engagement on behalf of the small business community within Gladstone
  • Implement strategic plans as agreed with the management committee to attract and retain members, increasing the organization's reach and influence external stakeholders.
  • Track and analyze key metrics to measure the success of events and membership efforts, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Develop and implement marketing and social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement and ticket sales
  • Create and curate high-quality content for various platforms including social media and website including the monitoring and analyze online performance metrics to optimize campaigns and drive results

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in events management, preferably within a non-profit or similar setting
  • Proven track record of successfully growing membership and/or engaging communities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities accompanied by a can-do attitude and ability to manage conflicting priorities with limited supervision.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Valid QLD Drivers Licence and own vehicle to use for work purposes (subsidised)
