James Lewis is currently assisting a Top 30 M&E contractor, in their search for a Mechanical Commissioning Manager to join a recently secured project in SW London.
As a privately owned Mechanical & Electrical Building Services contractor they provide services across Design & Build, full M&E services, HVAC, IT infrastructures, CCTV, security, access control and fire alarms. The company has been founded upon sound practises, quality installations and working closely with their clients on a range of projects which include, commercial, education, residential, healthcare, data centres and healthcare ranging in value up to £20m.
The project is working on various parts of a large sports facility in Southwest London. The scope of work includes CAT A fit-out, various elements of the mechanical plant and fit-out of the spa area comprising swimming pool, gym and massage rooms with a mechanical value up to £5m. The go-live for the project is not until the start of May, but will run through to at least February 2025.
Commissioning Manager Responsibilities:
* Oversee the installation, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems
* Management of direct reports (commissioning and testing personnel on site)
* Reporting Progress on all Commissioning activities both internally and externally.
* Chairing weekly commissioning meetings and directing weekly commissioning activities
* Development of the Project commissioning schedule in conjunction with the project programme
* Responsible for the Compilation of all Testing and Commissioning Documentation including verifying and signing off on all results
* Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels
* Witnessing and issuing permits
* Responsible for Commissioning and programming hand over of services in Landlord’s areas
The Ideal Candidate will have a proven track record in mechanical commissioning on projects up to £5m in value, have strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to problem solve complex issues with effective solutions
