Your profile

  • Completed field of study in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Practical experience gained, for example, as an intern or working student (maximum of 1,5 years)
  • First experience in an Operations optimization or operational excellence role, ideally in a consultancy environment
  • Understanding of production optimization principles (like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management)
  • Profound skills in common MS Office applications
  • Interest in challenging project tasks and associated challenges
  • Flexibility to work at different ZEISS locations in Germany and internationally during the program.
  • Fluent in English & German, both written and spoken, further languages beneficial

Your Role

During the 18 months, you will rotate between 4 different ZEISS departments across the company's different business units and possibly also abroad. Which departments these are depends on you - your chosen focus and your future role. During the program, you will also take part in several training sessions, workshops and project work that enhances your professional and personal development. All this aims at enabling you to hit the ground running after completing the program - and make you familiar with the basics to kickstart your
Possible tasks within the program:

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to optimize Operation processes and increase efficiency
  • Consult internal customers developing holistic solutions based on best practice approaches with a focus on standardization
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing
  • Assist in coaching, educating, and developing continuous improvement skills and competencies globally
