TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (m/f/d) Full time - Mainz We are looking for support in our Biosampling/IHC unit to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will join our team in the performance of laboratory activities. The Biosampling/IHC Unit is part of Biomarker Development Center in TRON, aiming to identify and validate novel biomarkers involved in cancer and other diseases. Our unit supports projects at TRON and with industrial/academic cooperation partners through its expertise on histological assays. We employ state of the art technology to analyse and validate new biomarkers in spatial context, deepening the knowledge on the tumor microenvironment, and investigate biodistribution and expression of mRNA-based vaccines. Performing and documenting of histological and immunohistological stainings on tissue sections (manual and automated) Processing of biospecimens (blood, serum, plasma and/or pleura effusion fluid samples, tissue) Managing of biospecimen: Keeping record of patient samples and data connected with those samples Instrument management of different microscopes, whole slide scanners, and automated stainers Assisting in drafting SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) for new processes Managing and organizing the laboratory A training as a technical assistant or an equivalent qualification (e.g. BTA/CTA/MTA); University graduates (BSc) Knowledge of histology and related techniques including immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence and previous experience would be beneficial A hands on experience in working under sterile conditions An independent, self-motivated working manner and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team High flexibility in everyday business Enthusiasm and curiosity for the diverse activities of our research institute as well as the ability to work in a team completes your profile.
