Environmental Scientist/Engineer

This position will support environmental investigation and remediation projects at Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) and Hazardous, Toxic, and Radiological Waste (HTRW) project sites.  The majority of projects will be located at sites owned or managed by the federal government and Department of Defense.  Tasks will include reviewing technical approaches and developing cost estimates/project schedules, supporting preparation of work plans, tracking and management, assisting with bids and proposals, and resource management, and writing and reviewing reports. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support various environmental investigation and remediation projects, including field activities, resource management, and assist in developing technical specifications, reviewing bids and negotiating with subcontractors.
Assist Project Manager/Technical Leads with preparation of work plans including but not limited to sampling and analysis plans, quality assurance project plans, and health and safety plans.
Perform data entry and QA/QC of data tables, maps, reports, and other work products.
Assist with development of completion reports for investigation and remediation projects.
Assist in developing conceptual designs, technical approaches and cost estimates, and tracking cost and technical  scope change management on existing projects.
Assist in developing scopes and specifications for subcontractors and partner companies.
Assist with client meetings and presentations.
Travel will be required to project sites, team meetings, and client meetings.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field.
3 to 5 years or more of related investigation and/or remediation experience on environmental projects.
Experience working on federal projects (DoD, USACE, Army, Navy, Air Force) is a plus.
Experience working on military installations is a plus.
Working knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, and MMRP regulations is a plus.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
U.S. Citizenship is a plus. Must be able to produce personal documentation and pass background checks when required to gain access to military installations.
Must be able and willing to travel for short-term assignments on project sites.
Must be proficient in Microsoft® Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
Must be able to perform successfully in a team environment with limited supervision.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with MS Projects is a plus.
Ability to accept occasional long-term (1 month) onsite assignments is a plus.
