Senior Human Resources Director EMEA

The Senior Director, HR EMEA role supports the overall business strategy with key HR priorities including:   building talent and organizational capability; creating a high performance, high engagement culture; and pursuit of continuous improvement and global HR functional excellence.  Collaborating with senior leadership to drive regional/global HR initiatives and best practices, the select candidate will act as senior HR business partner for the regional GM and work directly with commercial and corporate functional leaders in Luxembourg.  The position will have responsibility for pan-European and MENA governance practices for more than 3,600 Gates employees in the region and will be a key member of both the EMEA and global HR leadership teams   RESPONSIBILITIES:  Serve as a business partner and leader on human resources policies and practices within the groups the role supports. Drive core HR process excellence:  leadership and employee development, performance management, rewards and recognition, employee engagement, and communications. Directly support the EMEA staffing function, including the needs of the EMEA commercial business and in support of global HR processes, policies and best practices. Provide functional human resources leadership to direct reports. Work closely with global operations’ HR leadership for all actions and related activities in the region, in addition to Gates’ corporate HR leadership and counterparts in other businesses/groups. Communicate and deploy corporate-wide HR initiatives across the business. Personally lead change to improve organizational effectiveness.  Deliver change management methodology to internal customers. Administer compensation, benefits and recognition programs for the groups. Manage labor and employee relation matters and ensure legislative compliance with employment laws and regulations, working in conjunction with the global Operations’ HR team. Work with EMEA leadership to drive initiatives to promote employee experience and overall employee engagement.    Responsible for key performance indicators (KPI’s) of HR effectiveness and HR analytics. Performs other tasks and projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:  5 - 10 years of progressive experience in HR leadership roles. B.S. Degree in related discipline required with MS/MBA, JD highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and leadership skill set. Experience in Union, European Works Councils and other labor related matters across the European region.  High level of influencing, coaching, and communication skills (written and verbal). Capable in talent assessment and selection; organizational and HR analytics. Demonstrated success in building organization capability and upgrading talent. Ability to staff and develop an effective and capable HR team. Deep HR functional experience and generalist assignments in a variety of environments. Demonstrated business acumen and change leadership capability. Strong English language skills, including both written and oral.
