HR & Payroll Specialist

Reporting to the Group HR & Operations Director, the HR & Payroll Specialist shall be responsible for coordinating our monthly payroll processes whilst providing effective support to the HR & Operations Team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of contact for employee queries on leave, statutory entitlements, and compensation
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data, such as new hires, transfers, performance appraisals and absenteeism rates
  • Oversee employee registrations as well as work permit applications
  • Responsible for absence management and daily updating of relevant HR and Payroll Systems
  • Verify attendance related data for payroll processing
  • Prepare and execute payroll instructions in a timely and effective manner
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Be involved in and contribute to other HR projects as requested

 

Qualifications & Assets:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • A good understanding of labour legislation
  • In-depth knowledge of general accounting practices and payroll best practices coupled with previous experience using Shireburn Indigo
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and flexibility with work schedule to accommodate last minute requests
  • Ability to integrate and work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated level of professionalism and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, challenging environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills communication and presentation skills
  • Possess an eye for detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
