Technical Support Engineer
Actio Electronics Recruitment are assisting one of our clients based in Lewes with their search for a Technical Support Engineer to join their successful team.
The Company
Our client are a family owned, global leading manufacturer of electronic products who pride themselves on their high level of quality, reliability and service who have manufacturing sites in Lewes as well as in the US.
The company are looking for a talented electronics Technical Support Engineer to join the business due to sustained success and growth.
Purpose of the Role
Working with multiple departments across the company and reporting to the UK After Sales Manager you will work both from the company head office based in Lewes, West Sussex and from customer sites across the UK carrying out installs, repairs and surveys etc. When at the Lewes office you will be assisting with technical questions and queries from customers via the phone and email and by virtual meeting. Working on multiple projects your tasks will range from physical installs, configuring servers, creating media templates and assisting with technical questions.
Full training will be given for this position as well as a company van, fuel card, laptop and phone.
Due to the nature of this position some overnight stays and potential international travel would be required.
Duties will include:
* Carrying out installations and retrofits at client sites
* Providing first line support on company products
* Completing site evaluations and implementing improvement suggestions
* Providing product training for clients
* Attending team and client meetings
About You
We are looking for a motivated and flexible Electronics Support Engineer who has knowledge and experience of
* Serial communications standards and protocols
* Use of Linux
* Circuit diagrams, wiring, and system design
* Experience with technical support and dealing with customers
* Manufacturing or transport industry experience
You will be able to work in a team and alone and be a self disciplined with good planning and organizational skills and be experienced with repair and installation of electrical or electronic devices. Due to the nature of the work you would need a full driving license and a valid passport and will possess great written and verbal communication skills.
Salary and Benefits
This is a permanent role and is based on a day shift covering 40 hours per week circa £35,000 to £40,000 per annum.
