Job Description
SCF Lewis and Clark Terminals (a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Barge Company) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Traffic Manager to support our multi-modal terminals in the St. Louis / Granite City locations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all the rail, barge, and truck operations, and coordinating with the terminal operations team to ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods through the terminals.
 
What you will be doing:
•  Overseeing the scheduling and coordination of inbound and outbound shipments, including rail, barges, and trucks.
•  Managing and coordinating railcar flow with 6 Class I rail carriers and the TRRA. Coordinating with the operations team to manage the receipt and release of rail cars back to the TRRA or other carriers.
•  Providing the operations team with a daily report detailing pipeline of incoming railcars and barges.
•  Collaborating with operations, logistics partners, and external stakeholders to optimize traffic flow and minimize delays.
•  Monitoring traffic operations to identify bottlenecks, address issues, and implement solutions for improved efficiency.
•  Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including transportation regulations, safety standards, and terminal operating procedures.
•  Liaise with customers, carriers, and suppliers to coordinate shipments, resolve logistics issues, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
•  Addressing customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
• Generating reports, analyzing data, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to traffic operations, such as turnaround times, dwell times, on-time delivery rates, and resource utilization.
•  Working with the operations to actively manage rail and barge demurrage.
•  Using data insights to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving measures.
•  Leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of future traffic coordinators.
•  Providing training, guidance, and support to ensure team members perform their duties effectively.
