THE ROLE
As the interim Document Controller at Damen Naval, you are the custodian of all (technical) documents related to building state-of-the-art naval vessels. You will support the ship-building project team by efficiently processing and exchanging all relevant documentation with customers, partners, and subcontractors. You will plan, execute, and coordinate scheduled internal and external distributions, ensuring compliance with data confidentiality and permissions. Additionally, you will ensure all exchanged information is accurately registered in the Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this interim role, your responsibilities will include:
Process and manage documents and vendor data in various databases (PDM, PLM).
Ensure timely registration, distribution, and availability of documents to authorized personnel.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve document issues across sub-projects.
Initiate actions to mitigate delays and ensure timely delivery of (updated) documents and vendor data.
Report on the status and progress of Document Control activities.
Identify and implement improvements for Document Control tasks
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
2+ years of experience in document control, administration, and vendor document processing in a technical, logistic, or production environment.
Proficiency in PDM (Enovia) and PLM software.
Extensive experience with MS Office, particularly Excel.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Strong attention to detail, proactive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal; basic Dutch or German skills are a plus or willingness to learn.
Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
WHAT WE OFFER

This temporary assignment is exclusively offered on a secondment (detachering) or temporary employment contract basis. Freelance or ZZP agreements are not considered due to current Dutch legislation.
