Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor - London

We are supporting an esteemed international multi-disciplinary Top Tier Contractor, renowned for delivering exemplary construction and engineering services, in their quest for a seasoned Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to contribute to projects across London, UK. As a pivotal member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the cost aspects of mechanical and electrical projects, ensuring precise estimation, effective budgeting, and prudent financial management. Operating across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, the company has emerged as the preferred provider of engineering and construction services across various growth segments, including pharmaceuticals, data centres, life sciences, industrial, commercial, residential, and power transmission and distribution.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

* Collaborate closely with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions while upholding quality and performance standards.

* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical and electrical works.

* Develop comprehensive budgets, aligning them with client expectations and project requirements, and considering all cost components.

* Oversee cost control measures, promptly identifying potential commercial risks and reporting them to management.

* Collaborate with the estimation team to ensure precise quantity take-offs and bills of quantities for Mechanical & Electrical systems and installations in each project.

* Evaluate electrical drawings and specification revisions to ensure thorough identification of changes.

* Conduct site visits and inspections to assess work progress, validate quantities, and address any issues that arise.

* Evaluate subcontractor claims and prepare reports on quantities, rates, and payment applications.

* Implement systems for tracking labour resources and performance on Mechanical & Electrical works for each project, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

* Supervise labour productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as needed.

* Maintain accurate records of all Mechanical & Electrical cost-related documents, contracts, and correspondence.

* Essential Quantity Surveying qualifications.

* Relevant experience as a Mechanical & Electrical QS.

* Proficiency in Mechanical & Electrical cost control, estimation, and quantity surveying techniques.

* Excellent IT skills.

* Strong delegation and organizational skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively with the wider project team.

* Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

* Familiarity with local regulations and industry standards related to Mechanical & Electrical works
