Position Overview:

At Saab, we are constantly looking ahead and pushing boundaries on what´s considered technically possible. Saab is expanding in the UK and we are now seeking multiple talented and highly motivated Software developers to support our radar and sensors activities at our Farnborough office. Sensor Systems is responsible for radar and sensors development and delivery in the UK.

Much of our current work is centred on the G1X radar, which is the newest radar is Saab's portfolio - a software define radar with a regular capability update cycle. As a software developer in the group, you might be programming in Java, working with Information Assurance, building operating systems or work with continuous integration. Our software developers are primarily based in Farnborough, UK but with regular trips to Sweden for training and knowledge transfer. The amount of software and complexity is rapidly increasing in our products and we need someone flexible with an interest in problem solving and technology

Key Responsibilities:

The radar software group are structures as a number of agile teams who together plan, organize and implement their own work. Individual teams are responsible for design, implementation and test of software functionality. As a member of the group, you will have influence on our technical solutions as well as our ways of working.

Key responsibilities include:

Analyse requirements and design object oriented software
Develop application software in Java and Android
Information Assurance
Integration and test
Kotlin
Interaction with colleagues inside and outside your team, especially with teams located in Sweden
Participate in team meetings, incremental planning and demonstrations

Required Skills:

As a person you are positive, social, result oriented and a team player with a background within IT, programming, data science or systems engineering
Enjoy working and developing in a team
Like cooperating with others but are capable of working individually as well
Good technical communication skills, confident in writing and reviewing formal technical documentation.
Very good command of written and verbal English, ability to communicate efficiently with international colleagues from various engineering and non-engineering functions. Self-motivated to seek answers when information is limited and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
Experienced in working with application software (5 years minimum)
Practiced in Agile methodology
Good technical communication skills
Have a Bachelors degree or equivalent
During your employment you will handle tasks and materials that are classified as military secret and therefore you must have a UK or Swedish citizenship
