About the Role
To manage a rolling channel marketing plan for our distribution (Trade) and Specification (Social Housing) channels. Providing a budget and the requirements of the channel to the communications, digital and product marketing functions in line with our business and sales objectives.
To work closely with the sales team and their customers to understand the industry, where it is going and how this impacts our business. Presenting this information back to the wider marketing department and business to support the delivery of projects, campaigns and product development.
To provide direction on the tactical projects taking place in the marketing communications and digital teams and their agencies. Know what is needed, help provide the brief to achieve it, and approve the work before it goes into the market.
To own the pre-tollgate section of the development process, progressing ideas until they have a clear commercial justification for research and development resource. To act as a consulted representative in the tollgate process to ensure that these ideas are executed in a way that will make them valuable to the business once launched.
To conduct regular steering meetings and produce a dashboard for the senior management team which quickly summarises the activities of the channel, need-to-know information and any questions that must be answered at the senior level.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Degree or Equivalent or similar marketing qualification
Experience in managing budgets and delivering activity plans successfully
Able to demonstrate an understanding of the Distribution and Specification markets. Can explain how transactions take place, how the market can be segmented, and the needs/responsibilities of the different customers within it.
Comprehensive understanding of all elements of the marketing mix and key marketing communications delivery tactics, both online and offline
Capability of understanding and linking macroenvironmental factors which affect markets, and an understanding of its contribution to the Channel Planning process
Demonstrate an active and proactive approach in identifying opportunities which will help in achieving the Channel Objectives
The role will include a variable amount of travel, with an average of one to two days a week spent travelling.
Typically, this is in the UK however will include trips abroad on occasion.
You will manage your own diary, with control of travelling when it is required and feasible.
Travel examples include customer visits, exhibitions, attending sales team meetings and visiting manufacturing facilities. Travel occasionally involves nights away from home'
