Die Cut Machine Operator

Redditch • Full time • Permanent • £28 - £32k depending on experience

Our Redditch-based client is gearing up for the next phase of expansion and is actively seeking an experienced Die Cut Machine Operator. The primary responsibility of the role is to produce an exceptional standard of work, driving efficiency, ensuring quality, and maximising productivity on corrugated die cut machines.

The ideal candidate will have a real passion for production and manufacturing and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. A person with a great eye for detail, and a real drive for producing quality work. Someone who is flexible, target driven and a real team player.

Day to day duties and responsibilities for the Die Cut Machine Operator role.

Operate the Die Cut machine with multiple sets and change overs during the day.
Work safely at all times, in accordance with the companies Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Make sure job cards and drawings are checked thoroughly to ensure quality product is produced 1st time and the product is made as per customer specification.
Carry out QC checks throughout production run to ensure the product conforms to customer specification and reduce the non-conformances.
Troubleshooting faults during production runs and adjust set accordingly to keep production flowing.
Maintain records, reporting relevant information and preparing any necessary documentation.
Store dies in an orderly fashion and ensure tools are kept in a safe place.
Manage consumables needed for machine operation to ensure we have sufficient stock for new orders.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised working area.
Recording production data accurately live on the system.
Must be familiar with lean, 5S principles.   
Maintaining a hight level of cleanliness and organisation of the machinery and surrounding work area.
Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance on machine - Reporting any machine faults/breakdowns to the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Communicating and coordinating with other departments when necessary.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce waste using lean manufacturing principles, 5S, six sigma.
Any other task determined to be in the interests of efficient operation.

What you'll need to succeed in our Die Cut Machine Operator role

Minimum of 3 years of experience in machine operating (die-cut) within the packaging industry.
In-depth knowledge of corrugated cases, die cut tools, substrates, FEFCO styles.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
Sound understanding of health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
Exceptional organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be target driven with the desire to meet and exceed targets.
A high degree of accuracy with an eye for detail
Excellent planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
A flexible and positive approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
