Jointers Mate

Pertemps Burton are recruiting for a highways Jointers Mate for a brilliant client based in Burton. 
 
They operate one of the largest streetlights contracting businesses in the UK, with a large presence in the Midlands.
As well as providing new installations for most of the UK’s housing developers, they also work for the majority of the local authorities in our area.

Jointers Mate Activities:

To install street lighting and highway electrical street lighting equipment
Act as jointers mate for connections to DNO/IDNO networks
The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role up to and including LGV (Cat C) and vehicle mounted lorry loader cranes
Excavation and reinstatement in multiple surface types to current NRSWA standards
Maintaining street lighting and highway electrical street furniture
Attending call outs as required which may require participating in a 24 hours standby rota for emergency attendanceJointers Mate Responsibilities:

Holding a relevant authorisation to work on distribution networks
The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role
To have an awareness of the working environment and surroundings
Working in a safe manner
Complying with operational working practices
Taking full ownership for personal health and safety responsibilities 
Ensuring correct selection and use of company provided PPE and equipment as required by the relevant risk assessmentJointers Mate Requirements:

Relevant authorisation to act as jointers mate for service connections to DNO/IDNO networks
An appropriate NVQ (e.g. C&G 6156) or equivalent qualification in highway excavation and reinstatement
A current NRSWA qualification (Units 1-9 preferred)
An appropriate G39 qualification
A current full driving licence to drive vehicles up to and including LGV Cat C
A good understanding of the Highways Lighting business
Electrical qualification C & G 236 Parts 1 / 2330 Level 2 would be beneficial
A CSCS accreditation via the Highways Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS) is preferredPlease call Pertemps Burton or apply online
