Role Purpose:

To control the on site operations mainly in respect to Labour, Plant, Materials and Subcontract. To ensure the resources are applied as planned and works are carried out safely, to the highest quality standards and within the planned timescales.

Includes, but not limited to structures maintenance & planned structures works.

What you'll be doing

As a Site Agent, you will have the following accountabilities:

Manage commercial and business risks to achieve targets on projects;
Leadership of Zero Harm and drive for continuous improvement across SHEQ within projects
Develop and support the operational teams to be successful by talking positively, listening actively and encouraging constantly
Management of supply chain partners and direct resource operatives on site to deliver works to programme
Weekly/Monthly planning, programming and integration of works, minimising road space occupancy and achieving full compliance with Streetworks permitting regime
Provide close liaison with commercial team to ensure accurate estimates are produced
Ensure works, are carried out to client specification and delivered to agreed costs (when required) and provide accurate records for commercial team
Engage the Client and Supply chain in early contractor involvement pre-start of any scheme work to ensure effective, efficient and safe planning/delivery of all works
Ensure contract targets/KPI’s are met and maintained
Arrange that all operatives in the gangs are given site inductions prior to any site activities starting and daily briefings prior to commencing any activity
Ensure all site personnel have the correct authorizations to operate plant or receive permits
Ensure and monitor that all site personnel have the correct PPE and welfare facilities on site
Ensure that accidents and incidents are promptly reported, giving accurate details established at the time of the incident
Ensure Permit to Work near Existing Services documentation is clearly and correctly carried out for all ground breaking activities related to construction works.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

Full driving licence;
SMSTS or SSSTS
NRSWA trained
Experience of Highway Maintenance Work
Detailed operational knowledge
Understanding of emergency and winter service operations
Understanding of basic works programming
Commercial Awareness
Ability to lead, develop and motivate a team for success
