Newgate Ltd based in Newark was established in 1984 and has built an outstanding reputation for providing quality bespoke security solutions including gates, barriers, road blockers and access control systems. We provide an end-to-end service to our customers - with the capability to design, fabricate, install, service and repair equipment throughout the UK.
We are actively recruiting an enthusiastic and experienced Draughtsperson to join our busy and close-knit team of electrical and mechanical engineers.
You will have proven experience in a similar role; ideally with a working knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques.
Successful candidates will be strong communicators and highly organised, as you will be working with customers and the wider business on multiple contracts and must be competent in prioritising your workload to meet deadlines.
You will be able to demonstrate the following day-to-day experience:
* Compile drawings for client approval from front sheet, specification and information provided from BDMs
* Act as customer liaison to resolve potential “issues” or problems
* Provide technical help and information to the Shop Floor and Service department (incl. site visits)
* Attend site meetings with clients as and when required.
* Liaise with Design team to resolve production or development problems
* Liaise with Sales team to provide technical support and assistance in producing drawings for estimating/sales purposes
* Producing detail drawings for manufacture
* Creating bills of materials for manufacture
* Amending and updating existing drawings and control prints
* Producing calculations to assist with designs for client approval
* Managing projects when needed
* Updating technical documents and manuals when needed
* A working knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques
Qualifications/software experience requirements:
* ONC, BTEC or higher in Mechanical Engineering
* Competent in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD 2D
* Competent in the use of Autodesk Inventor including knowledge of coding using iLogic
* MS Office Experience including MS Excel.
* Clean Driving Licence
