Management Accountant (Hybrid)

We are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant who is full, part qualified to ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, or is qualified by experience and has advanced Excel skills.

The company are offering this position on a hybrid basis if required 3 days office, 2 days home.

Working within a finance team of 6 and reporting to the Head of Finance you will be doing a wide range of financial activities and responsibilities to include -
Month End:
• Standard month-end processes including closing of ledgers, processing journals, variance analysis for costs against budget with appropriate commentary, and the production of the monthly management accounts.
• Ensuring balance sheet control accounts are reconciled each month, investigating imbalances, and taking corrective action where necessary.
• Distribution of standard MI to stakeholders in a timely manner and provision of partnering support to ensure key information is communicated to enable decision-making across business units.
Regulatory Reporting:
• Completion of data for the Office of National Statistics adhering to the specified deadlines.
• Completion of VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner.
• Supporting the year-end process in the production of the statutory accounts and supporting schedules in preparation for the audit process.
Other Key Responsibilities:
• Providing ad hoc reporting as and when required.
• Travel invoice coding and input when required.
• Supporting the team at key periods, i.e., during absences or heavy workloads.
• Providing support with the budgeting/forecasting process. Gathering key data to understand cost profiles and building the budget templates ready to populate and import into Oracle.
• To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service at busy times is essential.
• There may be occasional travel to other offices
