Job Description:
The Credit Analyst is responsible for assessing a loan applicants credit worthiness. This role involves gathering and analyzing financial data about clients, including paying habits or history, earnings and savings information, and purchase activities.
Responsibilities:
Credit Evaluation: Assess creditworthiness of existing or prospective clients. Examine financial transactions and credit history case by case.
Risk Assessment: Evaluate clients financial information and financial status, including cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets. Prepare reports about the degree of risk in lending money to them.
Credit Structuring: Determine the terms of credit and ensure the loans will be paid back in a timely manner.
Reporting: Prepare reports with credit information for use in decision making.
Compliance: Follow regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Credit Analyst or similar role.
Strong understanding of lending procedures and laws.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to create and process financial spreadsheets.
Strong communication skills.
