Public Contact Trainer

Salary: £35,982 per annum rising to £38,007 with yearly increments, (no shift or weekend working allowance)

Location: Kempston, Bedfordshire

Hours: Monday-Friday (Apply online only)hrs – (Flexibility for some weekend and evening working if the role requires for Recruitment/Assessment events.

CE Solutions are excited to be working with Bedfordshire Police. Their Force Control Room, Crime Bureau, and Customer Support Staff work together to ensure that the community receives the support and service it deserves. They are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Public Contact Trainer to join their team and play a crucial role in maintaining high training standards within the force.

The role:

As a Public Contact Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and delivering training material to ensure that our Public Contact staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. You will work closely with supervisors, other trainers, and external stakeholders to ensure that training is relevant, up-to-date, and engaging.

Key responsibilities to include:

* Design, maintain, and deliver training material that aligns with best practice standards and force policy.

* Facilitate structured learning for groups and individuals, using appropriate training methods.

* Keep all training materials, processes, and policies current and accessible to all staff.

* Work with Public Contact Supervisors to ensure training requirements are met and support staff performance improvement.

* Plan and deliver training days for Public Contact staff and external partners as required.

* Maintain ongoing CPD to ensure competency in key roles within the Public Contact team.

* Develop and deliver bitesize training material as needed.

* Provide feedback and conduct evaluations during and after training sessions to ensure effectiveness.

* Support recruitment and selection processes for Public Contact staff as needed.

* Maintain accurate training records and assist in future training needs analysis and gap analysis.

What will I need…?

This position requires someone who is confident, has strong communication skills, and is comfortable with various IT systems. You will also play a role in providing guidance and support to staff, ensuring their continual professional development.

Key requirements:

* Minimum of 2 years in a Contact Management Centre, ideally with emergency services experience, and at least 1 year of delivering relevant training packages.

* Proven experience in creating and delivering training packages or a relevant qualification.

* Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and sensitively.

* Experience in coaching and mentoring staff.

* Comfortable with IT systems and data management.

* Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver on time.

* Willingness to travel within Bedfordshire and occasionally across Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

* Excellent customer service skills and commitment to improving public confidence in the police service.
