Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager
£70,000 - £85,000 + Benefits
Essex (travel around London, Sussex and Kent)

As the Senior Commercial Manager for an international and respected civil engineering subcontractor, you are responsible for overseeing and controlling all commercial aspects of the projects, ensuring that “nothing falls through the cracks”.
Developing and delivering commercial strategies in line with the business requirements is essential for achieving the overall project goals.
Closely monitoring the project's financial performance and making informed decisions, ensuring that the project stays on track and achieves overall objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
*
Hiring and management of the Commercial team
*
Provide guidance and support on all commercial issues within the projects
*
Review all commercial plans
*
Maximize margins
*
Provide contractual advice throughout the tendering process
*
Improving commercial procedures
*
Managing the monthly commercial audit process
*
Manage mediation/adjudication claims, gather and review relevant documents, assess the claim's validity, communicate with all parties, and keep accurate records
*
Protect the company by correctly administering the subcontracting process
*
Manage monthly CVR’s
*
Monthly reviews of contract results and performance
*
Comply with corporate governance
*
Submission of valuations within the allocated time period
*
Handle claims preparation, final account negotiation, and settlement
*
Manage the compensation event process
*
Fully comply with company commercial procedures and corporate governance requirements
*
Undertake regional contract audits
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
*
Experienced in managing teams of Costing staff, Quantity Surveyors and Project Planners
*
Hold relevant Degree qualifications
*
Civil Engineering experience including the Utilities sector
*
Experienced in developing and implementing procedures
*
Working knowledge of a vast range of contracts
*
Contractual experience
*
Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards) would be considerably advantageous
*
Hold a valid UK driving licence as travel around the London, Sussex and Kent areas

Basic salary £85, 000
