PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the Technical Specialist role is to support the technical team in all technical and compliance aspects within the account, specialising within the mechanical discipline. The role will be the mechanical and pressure responsible engineer for the account and will be expected to govern all aspects of mechanical operations and be an appointed person for pressure systems and steam boilers.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting all aspects of the accounts technical and compliance responsibilities;

Ensure statutory compliance is met with all the account's services and assets (Pressure systems, L8, F-Gas, Drainage, medical gases etc.). Supporting the Compliance Manager in arranging inspections, maintenance, and subsequent remedial actions in alignment with written schemes and set frequencies.
To be the appointed responsible engineer for all mechanical aspects.
To assess and appoint team members for conducting relative mechanical tasks and roles.
To be appointed as a Pressure Systems AP, conducting isolations and shutdowns when required.
To be appointed as boiler/steam generator manager, overseeing operations of steam generating plant and associated equipment.
Managing appointed 3rd party contractors onsite, supporting delivery of services (Water specialists, drainage, combustion, F-Gas etc.).
Technical support to the operations team with issues, breakdowns, and procedures.
To be technical support to the Technical Director for mechanical aspects. Liaising closely with the other SME's within the technical team.
To provide regular compliance reports to stakeholders.
To ensure logbooks are always up to date and audit ready. Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
Supporting RCA and CAPA investigations and processes.
To attend training and actively engage with development.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Desirable to be HNC educated, time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent. Extensive experience considered as an alternative.
Member of or working towards membership and professional registration with an institute (e.g. IET, IMechE).
Technical training qualifications in various mechanical engineering aspects. (Pressure systems AP, BOAS boiler operator/manager, L8, HVAC, F-Gas).
Recognised H&S qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
Proven experience of managing isolations and works around pressure systems.
Proven experience of assessing and appointing individuals for mechanical competencies.
Extensive computer literacy skills (excel, word, powerpoint, visio etc).
Experienced in working within critical environments, preferably pharmaceuticals.
Experienced in conducting and leading route cause analysis investigations and resulting corrective and preventative actions
