Who are we looking for?

We are currently looking for new Assistant Commercial Analysts to join our Finance team at Cambridge Education Group.

The role is on a full-time, permanent basis with the location in Cambridge or Newcastle, United Kingdom. We operate on a hybrid work pattern where 3 days per week can be worked from home.

The role of Assistant Commercial Analyst is to support and challenge the Sales & Marketing team with all aspects of generating profitable sales for the business.

You will be responsible for producing, managing and analysing the commercial data to support the weekly strategic meetings with the Executive and Senior Management teams. As part of this role, you will deploy analytical, commercial, data management and data visualization tools to produce regular reporting shared with the wider business. You will work closely with the Group Commercial Finance Manager throughout the year on the budgeting and target setting process as well as play a key role in providing data reporting and analytical support.

Key responsibilities as an Assistant Commercial Analyst:

* Produce, manage and analyse the company’s commercial data and share regular reporting to inform critical business strategy decisions.

* Support the Group Commercial Finance Manager throughout the year as part of the budgeting and target setting process.

* Develop robust modelling to create stretching but achievable Targets in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing team.

* Create ROI analysis for specific projects, marketing activity or lead generation spend to help shape future strategy.

* Support the annual Price setting process and support any new business proposals as appropriate.

* Produce quality and insightful analysis on business performance, presenting sometimes complex information simply and compellingly.

* Produce and develop the weekly Trading Pack (a summary of the latest Sales performance) evolving it to reflect new partnerships.

Key skills and experience we will be looking for:

* Educated to a degree level, preferably in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or related field. (essential)

* Commercial experience demonstrating analytical thinking and financial acumen. (essential)

* Used to working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. (essential)

* Analytical thinker with natural intellectual curiosity. (essential)

* Someone who enjoys working with large groups of complex data to produce insightful analysis. (essential)

* Problem solver and quick learner with a proactive approach to finishing projects and tasks. (essential)

* Attention to detail but also ability to see the whole picture. (essential)

* Ability to build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams and individuals. (essential)

* Advanced level of Microsoft Excel. (essential)
