A Midlands based battery cell research and manufacturing centre is currently recruiting a Head of Manufacturing Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering function across the organisation which will include people, technical and budgetary management. 
 
The Head of Manufacturing Engineering will:
Deliver high quality processes and facilities with proven capability to satisfy key customer requirements on time and to internationally accepted standards.
Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, product engineering, quality, operations, business development, plant engineering, equipment suppliers and customers.
Be responsible for the research of future lithium-ion battery manufacturing technologies and participate in industrialisation and commercialisation projects.
Liaise with machine vendors to specify, commission, and install new equipment as well as continuously improve current legacy facilities already installed.
Drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Manufacturing Engineering function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.  
The Head of Manufacturing Engineering will have:
Degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
Fellow or Chartered Membership of an industry-related Professional Body.
Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components, and design techniques.
Proven project management and supplier experience.
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
