Electrical Engineer

Russell Taylor Group are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, for a Electrical Services Project Engineer to join their company on a full-time, permanent basis in Essex.
About Us: My client is a Mechanical & Electrical Services contractor, established over 50 years ago, providing integrated building services design and installation to the commercial and industrial sectors. Operating predominantly in London and the surrounding counties.
About the role: They are looking to expand their in-house engineering team to provide additional engineering support on our contracts and projects. The role would suit a suitably qualified individual with a degree of experience in a similar role, and looking to develop and progress their career. The position will be predominantly office based from our their office near Chelmsford, but will also involve working out of the office to attend meetings and site visits as required. The role may require some out of normal hours working where specific project requirements dictate.
Responsibilities: The role will involve all aspects of electrical engineering of our projects, from enquiry or conception stage through to completion, including (but not limited to):
• Developing electrical services designs and production of technical documentation including working drawings, schematics, installation detail drawings, technical submittals, supporting design calculations etc, to a level of detail required for site installation.
• Estimating and pricing enquiries and dealing with tender submissions.
• Liaising with clients, main contractors and/or design teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Co-ordinating services designs and requirements with the mechanical division and other external contractors.
• Maintaining company standards and procedures in all aspects of work.
Essential Attributes:
• Educated to a minimum of HNC level in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related discipline.
• Minimum of three years' work experience in a similar role and/or environment.
• Ability to work alone and collectively as part of a team, working under the supervision and direction of senior management and directors.
• Have a good working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards for electrical installations.
• Have a good working knowledge of electrical installations, materials and installation types, techniques and applications.
• A good level of general computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project etc).
• Experienced and proficient in the use of AutoCAD software.
• Being able to work on multiple projects at any one time, prioritising and managing your own workload and time effectively and efficiently.
• Be able to come up with technical solutions when encountered with problems or challenges, or proposing alternatives for the purposes of value engineering.
• Be comfortable in a client facing role and represent the company in a professional manner.
Desirable Attributes:
• Educated to HND or Batchelors level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related discipline.
• Five years' experience (or greater) in a similar role
• Experience of using industry standard software packages:-
• Trimble Amtech - electrical design software suite
• DIALux or Relux lighting design software
