Russell Taylor Group are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, for a Mechanical Services Project Engineer to join their company on a full-time, permanent basis in Essex.

About the role: They are looking to expand their in-house engineering team to provide additional engineering support on our contracts and projects. The role would suit a suitably qualified individual with a good degree of experience in a similar role and looking to develop and progress their career. The position will be office based from our office near Chelmsford, but will also involve working out of the office to attend meetings and site visits as required. The role may require some out-of-normal hours working where specific project requirements dictate.
Responsibilities: The role will involve all aspects of mechanical services engineering of our projects at a senior level, from enquiry or inception stage through to completion and final account, including (but not limited to):
• Estimating and pricing enquiries and dealing with tender submissions working alongside our Estimating Manager.
• Developing mechanical services designs and production of technical documentation including working drawings, schematics, installation detail drawings, technical submittals, supporting design calculations etc, to a level of detail required for site installation.
• Liaising with clients, main contractors and/or design teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Co-ordinating services designs and requirements with the mechanical division and other external contractors.
• Maintaining company standards and procedures in all aspects of work.
Essential Attributes:
• Educated to a minimum of HNC level in Mechanical Services Engineering, or equivalent related discipline. More ideally to Degree Level
• Minimum of five years' work experience in a similar role and/or environment.
• Ability to work alone and collectively as part of a team, working under the supervision and direction of senior management and directors.
• Have a good working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards for mechanical & public heath engineering installations.
• Have a good working knowledge of mechanical services installations, materials and installation types, techniques and applications.
• A good level of general computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project etc).
• Experienced and proficient in the use of AutoCAD software.
• Being able to work on multiple projects at any one time; prioritising and managing your own workload and time effectively and efficiently.
• Be able to come up with technical solutions when encountered with problems or challenges or proposing alternatives for the purposes of value engineering and be comfortable in a client facing role and to represent the company in a professional manner.
Desirable Attributes
• Educated to HND or Degree Level in Mechanical Engineering Services or equivalent related discipline.
• Five years' experience (or greater) in a similar role
• Experience of using AutoDesk AutoCAD software
• Experience of using industry standard software packages:
• Mechanical design software suite such as IES or Hevacomp
• Trimble Estimation - contract management suite
• Construct Cloud
