Assistant Accountant – £28,000-£30,000 – Chelmsford, Essex (Office-based)

We are a leading company providing business coaching and training services to business owners and entrepreneurs, looking to appoint an experienced and conscientious Assistant Accountant to our growing team.

You will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our finance department, ensuring our financial records are accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

Post all incoming supplier invoices onto our Xero accounting system and pass on for payment.
Process Expenses claims from all staff ensuring claims are within Company Parameters.
Post and reconcile all bank accounts including credit card accounts listed in Xero.
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations of main control accounts.
Keep Fixed Asset register updated and post monthly, the depreciation charges.
Assist with updating and producing monthly journals for prepayments and Accruals.
Produce data for Management Accounts, reports and KPI’s monthly and in a timely fashion.
Assist in the Year End Accounts preparation.
Any other assigned duties.

The Person

Minimum 2 years proven experience within a similar role.
Experience with Xero Accounting software. (Preferred but not essential)
Advanced Excel skills, including Vlookup’s, SUMIF’s PIVOT Tables and charts.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to plan and prioritise to meet deadlines.
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work under own initiative
