Due to expansion our client who is part of a global manufacturing company based in the Colchester area are looking to recruit a Proposals Engineer. Working within a small team the Proposals Engineer will have a technical background and will analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare proposals and quotes. The ideal candidate will have a HNC in Mechanical Engineering or above and will want to continue to develop their skills and knowledge.
The role:
Support the department from cradle to grave including enquiry, order process, producing technical proposals, processing orders, despatch, delivery and handover to accounts.
Gain a technical understanding of complete company product range along with current and potential new applications.
Maintain and improve the sales process in all aspects.
Providing document control during equipment approval process
Develop ERP system knowledge to input / extract data and process quotes & orders
Support customers with warranty claims
Provide technical information to head of departments and service engineers
Provide project reports to senior management as required.
Participate in business coaching development plans.
Provide excellent customer service and support.
Offer ideas for continual improvement of systems and processes.
What's required:
Must have engineering qualifications - HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering preferred
Technical knowledge/experience required
Must be open minded, well organised, motivated, disciplined and able to work in a team environment
Office based near Colchester with potential for hybrid after probationary period.
Must be able to travel abroad 1 or 2 times per year to visit the head office in Europe
Due to location a full UK Driving License is essential and candidates need to reside in the North Essex area
