We now have an exciting opportunity for a Take Off Technician to join our estimating team based at our Head Office in Ipswich.
So, what is the main purpose of the Take-Off Technician? They will be assisting the Take-Off Co-ordinator and Estimators in the accurate calculation of quantities and producing bills of quantities for tenders that are currently being bid.
If you’ve got a head for numbers, a sharp set of IT skills and an interest in civil engineering, we want you to come and work for us!
Main Duties:
* Assist the Estimators in other capacities if extra help required.
* Correspond with site personnel to assist in take-off or other relatable queries.
* Learn to read plans & project specifications.
* Learn to use the company’s take-off & earthworks modelling software.
* Learn to identify incidental items of work that may require take-off.
Develop an understanding of standard methods of measurement and forms of contract.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and the ability to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role by possessing impressive numeracy skills, and you must be able to work to deadlines! Whilst experience in civil engineering would be preferred, it is not imperative.
