About the Role: A dynamic manufacturing business is on the lookout for a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join their team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. There is a strong possibility that this role could become permanent, as the successful candidate will have the opportunity to maintain and build upon the changes implemented during the contract period.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development: Craft and implement robust safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Emergency Preparedness: Establish emergency procedures, conduct regular drills, and ensure swift responses to incidents.
Inspection & Risk Assessment: Perform regular inspections, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Training & Communication: Deliver comprehensive safety training sessions and actively communicate safety protocols across the organisation.
Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee adherence to safety policies, conduct audits, and compile detailed reports on findings and corrective actions.
Environmental Management: Design and maintain environmental management systems to monitor and reduce the organisation’s environmental impact.
Emergency Response Coordination: Manage and coordinate responses to emergencies and work with external services during incidents.
Legal Compliance: Stay updated with safety and environmental legislation and ensure the organisation’s compliance.
Employee Well-Being: Collaborate with HR to enhance workplace health and ergonomics.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance safety and environmental programs, incorporating best practices and innovative solutions.
What You’ll Need:
Certification: NEBOSH certification is crucial.
Experience: A substantial amount of experience in environmental health and safety roles.
Education: A degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field is desired.
Mobility: Ability to travel to various sites across the UK, with occasional international travel.
Skills: Strong experience in developing EHS programs, conducting risk assessments and audits, and managing regulatory compliance.
