Quality Engineer required for permanent role at long-established, market leading engineering manufacturing facility in Ipswich. The Quality Engineer is responsible for Product Quality Assurance to ensure that the products Manufactured meet customer requirements as per Design spec, comply with PED requirements and production process follow the approved test procedures so as to achieve defect free product to leave the production factory. As well as Work in Progress/Finished Product inspection, periodic review of production & field failure data, customer complaints data and plan for preventative action including process training when required. The post holder will carry out random product & process audit, supplier visits surveillance visits on suppliers, sub-contractors, and manufacturers. Working closely with the Service, Design, Sales, Production & Test to validate the new product sign off is completed; risks are logged and mitigated, and product has been tested as per PED compliance.

Main duties will include: -

* Investigate Production Quality/Field Quality/Warranty returns, /NCM/ and Perform Root cause analysis and implement preventative measure.

* Liaise with Production Engineering on Quality issues/Test failures and plan for preventative action

* Analyse Failure Data and prepare Quality Report on Weekly Basis

* Perform regular product inspection and ensure final product has all relevant documentations correctly checked and kept on records,

* Identify area for improvement, prepare product quality/safety training and execute training.

New Product/Process

* Organise Product/Process Validation and First off Inspection build.

* Conduct Process/Design Failure analysis and ensure these failures are rectified/detected before leaving the factory.

* Review current Build/test process and liaise with Team Leaders to update them

* Perform a regular process/test audit to ensure process are followed

* Maintain Audit schedule, plan internal audits for as per ISO 9001/14001/PED/PESR standard and investigate non-compliance and implement preventative actions

* Identify Hazards and implement control measures to mitigate risks- Update Risk Registers, COSHH registers, assist in Accident/near miss investigations

* Ensure Business Procedures and Safe system of work is in place throughout the factory

Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications/skills: -

* University degree and training Electro-Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor or master’s level) or Significant Experience in HVACR Industry, Quality Engineering

* Able to read Assembly or part drawing.

* Experience working with SAP or similar ERP

* Experience with different compressor technologies

* Understanding of UK and international standards and regulations ( ISO 9001/14001/45001), PED/PESR regulations

* Good knowledge of MS Office

* Structured way of working

* Problem-solving competence and good analytical skills

* High degree of willingness to learn, motivation, ability to work in a team and reliability

* Excellent spoken and written English
