NXTGEN are supporting a high profile and global business to recruit a Financial Controls Manager on a part time basis, based in their Peterborough office. The Financial Controls Manager will work as a go between for the central finance function and the internal audit team, reviewing risk areas as well as creating a controlled financial reporting process. You will work closely with the Group Financial Controller to design and implement the UK SOx program, reviewing current processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of the legislation. The Financial Controls Manager will also lead on the annual UK SOx sign off process too, working with group subsidiaries to ensure submissions are compliant and delivered in a timely manner. It's also expected that this role will lead on queries from subsidiary finance teams as well as providing training to the business as required.

Given this is a brand new position for the business, the successful candidate can expect a relatively "blank canvass" providing an excellent opportunity to truly make your own mark on this role. This is also a high profile position with excellent visibility and exposure to the senior leadership and executive team.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

Support the design and implementation of financial controls to ensure compliance with UK SOx legislation
Lead the annual sign off process across the group, ensuring compliance with legislation among subsidiary businesses
Champion a risk and controls mindset across the finance team, providing support and training to teams as required to help drive this
Review business submissions as part of the annual sign off to ensure they meet requirements
Continually test current processes and controls in conjunction with the Internal Audit team to ensure they are robust and fit for purposeThe successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a proven background in financial controls or internal/external audit. Any previous exposure to SOx (whether that be UK, US or J-SOx) would be significantly advantageous. You will be confident dealing with a range of senior stakeholders, supporting with the continuous improvement program to ensure that controls are fit for purpose.

The salary and remuneration offered for this role will be dependant on qualification and experience. This role offers great flexibility and the part time hours can be split across full days, school hours or shortened days to suit the individual, with an expectation for circa 24 hours a week. Hybrid working is also available with this role
