NXTGEN have a fantastic opportunity for a Group Accountant to join an impressive business in their Peterborough office on an initial 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. The group have innovation and customer service at the core of their business and this approach has resulted in a continued period of growth, including a number of exciting acquisitions. As such, the Group Accountant will be joining at a time where there is plenty of opportunity to improve processes and add value. This key role will see you working closely with the Head of Finance to deliver all consolidated reports for the group, reporting on actual performance and forecasts. As Group Accountant, you will also take ownership for all head office reports ensuring the business meets all technical reporting deadlines, whilst also remaining compliant on all Tax submissions. With the business striving for more, ad hoc projects will also arise during the assignment and may see the successful candidate support with a range of process improvement too.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

Lead on the preparation of consolidated budgets and forecasts for group, liaising with global colleagues to ensure group deadlines are met
Ownership of the month end close for the head office, ensuring all general ledger entries are reconciled
Continually review reporting processes and work closely with the Head of Finance to identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
Review all intercompany transactions and recharges
Lead the preparation of the statutory accounts close for UK and EU entities
Work closely with the wider finance team on a variety of Tax and Treasury tasks including VAT submissions, FX and banking
Provide technical advice and accounting support to the businesses as required including Lease AccountingThe successful candidate will ideally be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), ideally with prior experience working within an accountancy firm. You will be able to demonstrate prior experience with group accounts and consolidated reporting, combined with a working knowledge of IFRS. Given the high profile nature of the role the successful candidate will gain great exposure to senior stakeholders and as such, you will need the ability to influence high level decisions. There is a fantastic opportunity to drive change within the role and as such, candidates will need to demonstrate an ability to identify improvements to reporting processes, whilst also leading these changes across a group. Strong Excel skills are also key given the need to support with the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle for the business.

Salary £55,000 - £60,000 (Depending on experience)
